Vin blinked his sleep away slowly and then he looked down at Luna who was peacefully asleep, clasped at his body. Her breath was even and she seemed completely relaxed in his arms.
Look at you, babydoll. Vin told her silently. Nobody would say looking at you now that you’re so much trouble. He chuckled at his own words. Luna’s lips were slightly parted. He then slid his gaze along her naked body. You’re really beautiful, Luna, he thought frowning deeply as memories of their weekend together spread on his mind. And now what? He asked himself as his thumb traced her bottom lip gently. Just a slight touch and Luna blinked slowly, frowning.
“Morning, babydoll.” Vin said as he smiled. Luna blinked a couple of more times and then she smiled back. “Time to deal with the real world.” He added and with that he disentangled from her, climbing off the bed.
“Time to face reality.” Luna replied as she rolled on the bed, facing the balcony. “Morning, Mark.”
Vin frowned deeply at her words but he kept walking towards the bathroom, closing the door at his back. He then leaned against the door and closed his eyes, sighing hard.
What a weekend, man. Vin told himself. Better than we thought, huh? He glanced at his dick, chuckling at his own words. Fuck, Jesus! What am I gonna do? He asked himself, shutting his eyes.
Vin then shook his head and went to the sink. He stared at his reflection, rubbing his stubbly head. You’re scared to death, Vincent. He heard his own voice scolding him.
Vin started to shave his head, unable to get rid of Luna’s eyes; he was hearing her laughter echoing inside his brain and let out a heavy sigh.
She’s gonna go back to Spain next Sunday and you’re not gonna see her again, he told himself as he continued shaving.
Vin then stepped in the shower, adjusting the temperature.
Now is not the best time for this and you know that too damn well. You have to keep your mind on business. In a few weeks you’re going to start shooting “The Chronicles of Riddick”. So you will not have time for other things. Vin thought seriously as he stepped in the shower.
You met a beautiful woman, so what? No big deal. You are meeting beautiful women all the time, he said to himself as he rinsed off.
Ok, She’s Luna. She’s not like the others, but still, she lives on the other side of the world, Diesel. Vin added, frowning deeply.
She’s intelligent, smart, and sexy as hell and she has balls. He grinned as he stepped out of the shower and dried. Luna doesn’t care if I’m Vin Diesel. He argued with himself.
I’m tired, that’s all. Such a weekend can kill anyone, even me. Vin heaved a hard sigh. I’ve got to call Valentino. He finished his line of thought staring at his reflection in the mirror again, frowning deeply as his mind conjured mercilessly visions of his weekend with Luna. Fuck!
As soon as Vin closed the bathroom door, Luna rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling.
Well Luna, it seems that bad habits are hard to kill, sugar. Her voice whispered and Luna sighed hard. We already knew this was going to happen, Luna. So I don’t know why you are so disappointed, woman. We’ve been here before. Why is this time going to be different from the others?
Luna frowned deeply, thinking about all the men that she had met before and realized that not even one of them had taken two minutes thinking seriously about her.
Take a look at him, Luna. Her voice continued. He has a body to die for; he’s probably the best fuck you’ve ever had in all your life. He’s funny, intelligent and a bad boy. Of course you’re disappointed, the voice laughed.
You never ever in your fucking life had a man like him, Luna. Face it, woman. Why was it going to be different now, sugar? Luna heaved a hard sigh.
Suddenly M’s words popped in her mind. “…a man with his heart plenty of goodness….” The words echoed faintly inside her mind.
“Here he is, M. I met him and I’m already regretting it.” Luna murmured to herself as she closed her eyes.
When Vin came out the bathroom, he was already dressed in dark blue cargoes and a white t-shirt. He smiled at her and picked up his boots. When he was done, he went to her side and leaned slightly, kissing her lips softly.
“I have to go to the centre. I’ll drive you back to your hotel, ok?” Vin said as he turned to leave.
“Great.” Luna replied, climbing out of the bed.
At the sound of her voice, Vin stopped dead in his tracks and turned his head to look over his shoulder at her. Luna didn’t look back at him, she just continued walking to the bathroom, closing and locking the door. Vin shook his head and went to check on Roman.
Luna took a quick shower and got dressed in her jeans and her top. She then went to the balcony and slid the door open. She stepped outside and looked around. Time to deal with the real world, Luna. She thought silently.
Luna turned on her heels and went to the door of the bedroom. When she reached it, she turned around one last time, trying to fix every detail in her brain.
Too many things had happened inside these walls in the last two days. Luna sighed deeply as she shook her head. She then headed toward the hall thinking about the weekend.
A few minutes later, Vin joined her in the hall. They were looking at each other in complete silence for a long moment, and time stopped around them.
Luna, I would like to see you again, but I’m not sure if that would be a good idea. Vin thought silently.
I would like to see you again, Mark, but you haven’t asked me that, and I understand the reason why, Luna told him silently.
They continued staring at each other in silence for a long moment, neither of them wanted to make a move, but it had been just a weekend.
They knew that in some hidden part of their souls the other had changed something and for some strange reason, they weren’t sure if that change had been for the better.
Vin was the first to speak, breaking the tense silence. “Are you ready?” He asked her as he grabbed his car keys and headed to the main door.
“Yes, I’m ready.” Luna answered as she moved ahead of him and went to the car.
During the entire ride back to the hotel, neither of them said a word. Luna was staring through the window, not really paying attention to what she was looking at. She was trying to assimilate what had happened since she had laid eyes on Vin in London.
An unconscious smile spread on her lips. Luna was so lost in thought about him that she didn’t realize that she was smiling sadly while looking outside.
On the other hand, Vin was trying to keep his mind concentrated on the traffic and just from time to time, he glanced at her from the corner of his eye. He couldn’t help but curse himself silently.
Once again he had done what he used to do. Vin Diesel had spotted a girl and he had been pushing until he had gotten to fuck her and afterward, he got rid of her as soon as possible.
When they reached Luna’s hotel, she heaved a hard sigh. Vin parked the car at the other side of the street and switched off the engine. After a few seconds, Luna turned her head to look at him.
Vin was staring at his lap, playing with the keys of the car. She swallowed hard and cleared her throat. Vin lifted his head and looked at her.
“Thanks, for the weekend, Mark.” Luna said softly as she gently rested a hand on his forearm, squeezing slightly. Vin looked down at her hand and back up at her face.
“My pleasure, Luna.” He replied and lifted a hand to rest it over hers. But Luna removed her hand before he could touch her and got out of the car, closing the door.
Luna took a deep breath and headed towards the hotel. She suddenly couldn’t walk straight and her vision blurred slightly with unshed tears. Luna swallowed the knot in her throat and stretching her back, she continued walking, without looking back.
Vin watched her all the way until she entered the hotel after saying good morning to the bellboy. Vin didn’t know why but he felt like shit. He had done this so many times that he had lost count of them.
Letting out a heavy sigh, Vin started the engine and grabbed the steering wheel, gripping it so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
“Fuck!” Vin exclaimed punching it as he cursed himself silently.
Luna entered her suite and closed the door. Suddenly she didn’t feel like she was on vacation anymore. She searched inside of her pocket for her cell phone and threw it on the couch. Then she padded directly to the bed and collapsed onto the mattress.
Luna grabbed her pillow, conjured a vision of Vin and let her tears roll free along her cheeks. She felt asleep crying.
Vin left his car in the parking lot of the One Race Films office building. He crossed the lobby without saying a word to anyone and headed directly to his office. He entered and closed the door behind him.
Vin took a seat on his chair as he looked at his chrono. It was 10:30am. He got comfortable on his chair and closed his eyes, thinking about Luna.
